FreeOrion

FreeOrion is a game inspired by Master of Orion. It is a strategy game that can be described as the Civilization in space. In both Orions, you colonize planets, research new technologies, discover new systems and win (or lose) wars. The main difference between Master of Orion and FreeOrion is that the second one is absolutely free.
